Electric-field effects on photoinduced dynamics and function*
نویسنده
چکیده
Photoinduced electron-transfer processes are enhanced or quenched by application of electric fields, depending on the donor–acceptor pairs. Electric-field-induced quenching of photoluminescence, which results from the field-induced dissociation of the exciton state that depends on the photoexcitation wavelength, is observed in π-conjugated polymers. These electric-field effects on photoinduced dynamics have been confirmed by the measurements both of electroabsorption and electrophotoluminescence spectra and of time-resolved electro photoluminescence decays. Time-resolved measurements of photocurrent, with which novel material function in electrical conductivity of organic materials induced by photo irradiation and application of electric fields is confirmed, are also reviewed.

Ultrafast Electron and Molecular Dynamics in Photoinduced and Electric-Field-Induced Neutral–Ionic Transitions
Mixed-stacked organic molecular compounds near the neutral–ionic phase boundary, represented by tetrathiafulvalene-p-chloranil (TTF-CA), show a unique phase transition from a paraelectric neutral (N) phase to a ferroelectric ionic (I) phase when subjected to decreasing temperature or applied pressure, which is called an NI transition. This NI transition can also be induced by photoirradiation, ...

Photorefractive ~PR! polymers are promising for use in various applications that require fast response times. The main factors that determine the PR speed in polymers are photoconductivity and chromophore reorientation in an electric field. In this article, we investigate the chromophore reorientational dynamics in various PR composites using the electric field second harmonic generation ~EFISH...

Photoinduced dynamics of charge density and lattice displacements is calculated by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for a one-dimensional extended Peierls-Hubbard model with alternating potentials for the mixed-stack organic charge-transfer complex, TTFCA. A pulse of oscillating electric field is incorporated into the Peierls phase of the transfer integral. The frequency, the amp...
